About Translucent Paper and Vellum Liners
Vellum envelope liners are sheer, pre-cut inserts that fit snugly inside our popular Euro flap envelopes. We make them from Gmund’s premium 30lb translucent vellum, which looks like frosted glass—clear enough to catch the eye, but not fully transparent.
You’ll love the smooth, almost plastic-like finish. And despite how delicate it looks, vellum is surprisingly durable. It holds up beautifully to writing, scoring, gluing, and yes—even printing.
Vellum has taken the design world by storm—and for good reason. Its soft, ethereal look pairs well with modern minimalism, rustic chic, and everything in between. It’s become a go-to for wedding invitation designers, calligraphers, and crafters alike.
Because of this huge spike in demand, we wanted to make it easy for you to get that high-end look without the hassle. That’s why we’ve launched pre-cut vellum liners in all your favorite sizes—no cutting necessary!

Tips for Adhering Your Vellum Liners to Your Envelopes
These vellum liner inserts are easy to assemble and can be adhered with most adhesives Just line up the top of the liner with the gummed line inside your envelope, then attach using your favorite adhesive.
Ways to Adhere Your Liners to Your Envelopes:
-
- Zip Dry Paper Glue
- Elmers glue
- Glue stick
- Double sided tape
- Sticky dots or double sided adhesive dots
Due to the transparency of vellum, your choice of adhesive may be more or less visible. If you’re planning on using LCI’s Zip Dry glue or any other glue, we recommend using small dots or a thin line near the edge for a clean and polished look.
For a comparison of adhesive methods along with more tips and tricks, visit How to Attach a Vellum Envelope Liner Invisibly.
Regardless of the adhesive you use, you will want to apply your adhesive carefully and sparingly as it will show through the vellum due to its transparency.
We strongly recommend testing samples before lining all of your envelopes. You may even want to try out different adhesives to compare their performance and observe how each one dries before purchasing your full order.
For the best results:
-
- Be conscious of vellum’s transparency and the capabilities of the adhesive you are using.
- Remember a little goes a long way— you only need 2 small dots of adhesive & a thin line at the tip of the flap.
- Conceal adhesive by placing it below the line of sight on each side of the envelope opening.
- Avoid coating the center of the flap and try to stick to the edge for the best outcome.
- Don’t over do it— too much glue can cause a wet appearance and may be overly visible.
- Avoid layering multiple adhesive methods on top of each other.
- Sample vellum and test different methods of adhesives before picking your favorite one to line your envelopes.
- Order extra liners for any hiccups you may experience when setting up your envelopes.
Pro Tip: Follow our How to Attach a Vellum Envelope Liner Invisibly guide when lining your envelopes for the ultimate crisp, clean and professional look.
DISCLAIMER: Please note that adhesive will show through this translucent envelope liner paper. USE ADHESIVE SPARINGLY and test adhere one liner before lining all of your envelopes.
