Kromekote Coated Card FAQs

What's the difference between metallic cards, mirror cards, and glossy cards?
Metallic, mirror/foil, and glossy cardstock is all coated, but look and feel very different.
  • Metallic cards - At LCI Paper, we use the term "metallic" to refer to cards that are coated with a pearlescent, mic-infused coating, giving them a subtle sheen, sparkle, and iridescence. They are not as shiny and reflective as mirror or glossy cards.
  • Mirror cards - Or, foil cards, as people sometimes call them, are coated on one side with a super reflective, shiny material (like a mirror or metallic foil).
  • Glossy cards - These classic white cards are coated on one side with a high gloss finish.
All of these cards are laser printable and not inkjet printable. Due to their weight we recommend ordering a sample to test print.

What do people do with mirror cards?
Mirror cards are perfect for fancy invitation cards and layers (think weddings, Bat Mitzvahs, and Quinceaneras), menu cards, place cards, event signage, favor tags, holiday cards, scrapbooks, bookmarks, and so much more!

Can you laser cut mirror cards?
Yes, LCI Paper offers printing and laser cutting on foil mirror cards so you can create some pretty awesome shapes.

Do Kromekote cards come in a lighter weight?
At this time, Kromekote gloss and foil mirror cards are offered only in a heavy cover, not a text weight. If you want a coated paper that does come in a text weight, check out our Mirri Glitter paper or Metallic text paper.

Do Kromekote cards have matching envelopes?
At this time, there are no matching gloss, silver, or foil envelopes.
