Aquamarine – The Serene Stone of March, in Paper

Post Date : March 3, 2015

All Hail Aquamarine (in Stones and in Paper)

March’s birthstone generally conjure images of an enchanting light yet bright sea-blue. The color is known to calm and sooth; the stone itself is said to inspire truth. Folklore tells stories of beautiful mermaids collecting the stone as their under-water treasure, which is why it was a good luck stone for sailors, or anyone traveling over water.

To think of Aquamarine is one shade of blue is to sell it short. If you look closely enough you’ll see a wide variety of hues. There’s the blue most people think of first. But as the blue gets lighter and lighter, until it’s just a hint on a sparkly white, keep in mind it is all aquamarine in its own right.
