Using our Stardream Antique Gold Pocket Fold and Spring Flowers Japanese Chiyogami as the centerpieces, you’ll learn how to make a decorative and luxurious layered wedding invitation.
This invitation ensemble is not sold as a kit and some custom cutting is required. But if you want to make a unique invitation that’s all your own, this is a project you might enjoy.

- Stardream Antique Gold 5 x 7 Pocket Card
- Spring Flowers 8 1/2 x 11 Chiyogami(cut to 4 7/8 x 6 7/8)
- Ecru 80lb Card Stock 8 1/2 x 11 (cut to 4 1/4 x 6 1/4)
- 5 x 7 Clear Vellum Overlay
- Stardream Antique Gold A7 Envelope
- Ecru A1 Response Folder
- Stardream Antique Gold Response Envelope
- Gold Spiral Clip
Tools:
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Scissors or paper cutter
- Glue Stick or your favorite adhesive
- Computer and printer
Step 1 – Cut Chiyogami Layers:
- Use a ruler and pencil to measure and mark for 2 Chiyogami layers 4 7/8″ wide by 6 7/8″ high.
- Use scissors or a paper cutter to cut 2 layers out of each 8 1/2 x 11 Chiyogami sheet.
Step 2 – Cut Ecru Invitation Cards:
- Use a ruler and pencil to measure and mark for 2 invitation cards 4 1/4″ wide by 6 1/4″ high.
- Use scissors or a paper cutter to cut 2 cards out of each 8 1/2 x 11 Ecru sheet.
Step 3 – Print Invitation Cards and Response Cards:
Download free printing instructions and follow the PDF to print your cards using your home computer and printer.
Step 4 – Adhere the Chiyogami Layer and Invitation Card
Using the adhesive of your choice, first secure the Chiyogami layer to the pocket card, then secure the invitation card to the Chiyogami layer.
Step 5 – Attach Vellum Overlay Using Gold Spiral Clip.
For a different look, consider printing directly onto the Vellum Overlay rather than the Invitation Card.
Step 6 – Insert Response Items Into Pocket.
- Fold the Response Card along the score line and place it inside the Response Envelope.
- Place the response items inside the Pocket Card’s pocket.
Step 6 – Carefully Place Finished Invitation Ensemble Inside Mailing Envelope..
